WORTHY COLORED MAN DEAD.
Alex Harris a worthy colored citizen died at his home last Saturday night of Bright's disease after an illness of several months.
He was a devout member of the Baptist church and was buried Sunday afternoon in the colored cemetery.
"Uncle Alex" as he was familiarly known, will be missed by both white and black. That he was the janitor of the National Bank for 26 consecutive years attests his honesty and faithfulness. We are told that in all of these years he never missed a day from his post of duty or was he ever tardy.
Truly may it be said of him, "Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joys of thy Lord."
