A coroner's jury yesterday returned a verdict of unavoidable accident in the death of little nine-year old Mickey Dooley beneath the wheels of a large freight truck Saturday.
The jury reached its decision clearing Maynard Blount, the driver, of blame when Edward Dooley testified his brother died under the truck when a loosened roller skate threw him under the dual wheels. Edward was skating with his brother and two more companions on Michigan Avenue at the Seaboard railway crossing when the accident occurred. The small boy said the truck was moving slowly and that Mickey tripped and fell when the clamps of his skates slipped off one shoe.
Funeral services for the little boy will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon with the Rev. W. F. Singletary officiating. Interment will be in the Fort Myers Cemetery with Lawrence A. Powell in charge of arrangements.
