Sacred to the memory of a
Beloved Brother; Uncle and Friend ~ † ~
THOMAS J WHITE
55 years, 11 months, 12 days
Tom White, 55, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, was a class A+ auto mechanic; when he was a young teenager he learned his trade of repairing motorized mini bikes and go carts, when we all were kids in those days; When he wasn't making repairs, he worked at Bill's Deli on Rt. 38, they made and sold terrific deli sandwiches and hoagies. He was preceded in death by both his parents', as I recall, they passed at an early age also; he lived in the family home in Cherry Hill, New Jersey until his passing. As he got older, he worked for dealerships that hired certified A+ mechanics near his home in Cherry Hill, NJ; there wasn't a motor or means of transportation he could not fix; American and every type of foreign vehicle too. When he would get off from his day work and return back to his home, he would have a line of neighbors waiting for repairs. He was known as the ‘backyard mechanic'. He loved animals, and owned two beloved German Sheppard's during the years that I knew of... he got a second all white German Sheppard after his first one died and, he named him ‘Whitey' too. In the 1970's, he was the only person I knew that had solar panels installed on his home if something needed to be adjusted with that he would find time to get it done. He drove many vehicles but the one that stands out the clearest was his 1977 Cadillac Seville. He LOVED his football & would lose his voice during many of Super Bowl celebrations, fishing deep sea or local spots in the area, depending on his catch he loved grilling his catch on his backyard grill. About eight to ten years ago when I last saw him, he was working at Pathmark Supermarket. He told me that he had some major health challenges that he dealt with while being hospitalized and that he was on the rebound from his health situation. I did not learn of his demise until today, March 6, 2011. Now, that his journey is completed; REST IN ETERNAL PEACE "Whitey".
