Services Here For Grandma Cox, 84
Services for Grandma Cox, 84, one of the first settlers in the Alden community, were in the Pitcher chapel Sunday at 3:30 p.m. and burial was in the Carnegie cemetery. Uncle
Billy Hughes of Granite was the officiating minister.
Mrs. Cox died Friday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida M. Gabel, in Oklahoma City.
Last August she fell and broke her hip. She was in an Oklahoma City hospital three weeks and since then has been with her daughter.
Eliza E. Garrett was born in Jefferson county, Kans., April 4, 1862. She was married to J.R. Cox in 1879. They settled near Alden in 1902 and about 1917 moved to Carnegie.
Mr. Cox died April 25, 1934.
Mrs. Cox joined the West Union Predestination church in 1922 and was a member at the time of her death.
Survivors are the daughter, Mrs. Gabel, and seven grandchildren.
