Interment Parkwood Cemetery.
Anna Katherine or Annie as she was called by everyone was the daughter of David Styers, Sr. and Eula Spriggs. She was born a short time after my Grandfather. He was the big brother by just little over a year. Annie lived in Baltimore all of her life where she worked for many years for a psychiatric hospital in that area. She was what they now call a mental health tech. She worked in this hospital before the great changes were made and the way mentally ill individuals were treated. Annie had a son Reid when she was younger. I don't know why but he lived with his grandparents, Annie's father and step mother in a very rural area. Annie married Thomas Saunders and went to have two more sons who blessed her as adults with six grandchildren. She was also the great-grandmother of one. I don't know their names since I never met any of Annie's family. I never really knew my great-aunt Annie. I only saw her once in my whole life and that was when she came down to Florida to see her brother David for the last time in this world, he was dying of cancer and was now given the medical prognosis of terminal. Annie stayed with us for a couple days along with their other sister The only and last time I saw Annie was at that time back in 1995. She passed away ten years later in 2005 and I am sad to say I never had the opportunity to see her or talk to her again.
In heaven she was reunited with her husband Thomas Saunders, her parents, her first born, her son Reid Tyrone Styers, and her beloved big brother David (his sisters called him Bud)and big sister Bernice. There to greet her in Heaven were also her nephew Russell Smith Jr., and niece Kay Givens, both children of her sister Ethel Mae aka Skippy. There are also several siblings who passed on many years ago: Clara, Charles and the others, sadly I do not have their names.
Cause of Death: Complications attributed to Diabetes.
Please if you get the chance visit some of Annie's loved ones.
Her brother David Styers Jr
And/Or her son Reid T Styers who died as a young man as he was fighting in the Vietnam war.
