Gregory B. Krivchenia, MD, died Aug. 24, 2011, at his home in Marietta after a long illness.
Dr. Krivchenia was a leading member of the medical community of Marietta for 37 years. He was born in Cleveland in 1929 and graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1954 and completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Akron General Hospital. His military service included three years in the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. He began practicing in Marietta in 1967 and later founded First Settlement Orthopaedics, practicing there until his retirement in 2004.
Dr. Krivchenia is survived by his daughter Megan Baumgartel, her husband Rolf and their sons, Noah and Johannes; son Eric Krivchenia, his wife Ellen and their sons, Seth and Aaron; son Mark Krivchenia, his wife, the Rev. Hilary Krivchenia, and their children, Lea, James and Chava; son Alex Krivchenia, MD, his wife Angie and their children Katelyn Krivchenia, MD, her husband Chris Eastman and their children, Gene Paul, Jenny, Kiera, Eric and Alaina; son Gregory Krivchenia II, MD, his wife Di Ann and their children, Gregory III (Grisha) and his wife Rosa, Maya and Nicholas. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Megan Krivchenia.
There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Donations can be made in Dr. Krivchenia's memory to the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, 10900 Euclid Ave. Cleveland 44106.
