YAKIMA - Warren D. Clements, 94, of Wapato died Tuesday, April 5, 2005 in Yakima.
Warren was born September 10, 1910 in Hays Kansas to Warren Cloud and Hattie Julia (Burch) Clements. The family lived in Kansas until coming to the Yakima Valley in the 1920's. Warren worked in the shipyards in Vancouver, Washington during World War Two. After the war he returned to Wapato and worked as a mechanical engineer for the United States Indian Irrigation Project from 1930 to 1970 when he retired. After his retirement he moved to Sitka Alaska and worked for the city, working there until returning to Wapato in 1974. Warren was a member of the National Rifle Association, National Federation of Federal Employees and Eagles Lodge #289 of Yakima.
Warren is survived by two daughters, Marjorie (Fred) Thatcher of Goldendale, Washington; Patricia Elper of Kennewick, thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in Merritt Funeral Home Chapel. Conluding services and burial will be in Reservation Community Memorial Park west of Wapato.
