Mildred graduated from San Antonio's Brackenridge High School in 1941. She married Warren Rector Page on March 8, 1942 in Jenks, Okla., and moved to Wichita. She gave birth to a son in February 1944, the first of six boys over 17 years, all at St. Francis Hospital.
Mildred served as a parent and supporter at Pleasant Valley Elementary and Junior High School, McLean Elementary, John Marshall Junior High, and North High School between 1949 and 1978. She moved her family to Huntsville, Ala., in 1965 and back in 1966. In the 1950s, '60s and 70s she served as a Cub Scout den mother and supporter of Boy Scouts and helped five sons carry newspapers for the Wichita Eagle-Beacon. She supported their education at Stanford University, the University of Alabama, Wichita State University, Southern Methodist University and the University of Kansas.
Mildred enjoyed the music of Tennessee Ernie Ford, Anne Murray and Glen Campbell. She loved to sing, sew, cook, swim, walk, and grow vegetables and herbs. She cultivated gardens, families and communities wherever she lived."
