Ernest H. Knox
Ernest H. Knox, 79, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003. He was a resident of Indianapolis.
He was born March 7, 1924. His parents were Edward and Nellie (Purcell) Knox. He married Bernadine L. (Wilson) Knox. She preceded him in death. Survivors include three sons, Roy, Bud and Edward Knox; two daughters, Mary Sweazey and Sandy Brinson; four brothers, Hershell, Harvey, Kenneth and Bobby Knox; three sisters, Darlene Alexander, Erva Webb and Roberta Smith; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was employed by CW Transport as a truck driver for 17 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Westside Pentecostal Church and American Legion posts 500 and 64.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
A service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Conkle Funeral Home, 4925 W. 16th St. in Speedway. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
