Mont was the son of James & Cora Cotter.

He married Mary Elizabeth Haynes in Harrisonville, Cass Co, MO on July 28, 1928. He was 23 years old, & she was 18.

On April 13/14, 1930, Mont, age 25, & Mary E., 20, lived in Wyandotte, Ottawa Co, OK where they were renting. Mont was a farmer at the Indian School. They had a daughter, Margery L, four months old.

"Bogus Check Charge Dismissed in Court
A charge of obtaining property by means of false witnesses, filed in county court against Lloyd H. Lamb, 42-year-oId Wyandotte man, was dismissed today at the request of the complaining witness, Mont Cotter of Miami. Lamb was arrested last Tuesday by sheriff's officers on Cotter's
complaint that the Wyandotte man had passed a $82.27 bogus check to him, H.G.E. Beauchamp, assistant county attorney, reported."
