Jose Amador Hernandez, 63 passed away on January 14, 2012 in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born on May 30, 1948 in Aransas Pass, Texas to Amador and Lucia Gonzales Hernandez. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a skilled carpenter and a member of the V.F.W. Post #2932 and the St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Aransas Pass, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Patricio Hernandez.
He is survived by three sons: James P. Hernandez of Lawrence, Kansas, Christopher L. Hernandez of Corpus Christi, Texas and Ricardo Hernandez of Aransas Pass, Texas; two daughters: Melissa A. Hernandez-Flores (David) and Stephanie L. Hernandez both of Corpus Christi, Texas; a brother, Blas Hernandez of Taft, Texas; seven sisters: Pauline Jones of McQueeny, Texas, Teresa DeLeon of Junction City, Kansas, Irma Jones of Corpus Christi, Texas, Josie Carrion of Robstown, Texas, Irene McCullough of Ingleside, Texas, Carmen Garcia and Juanita Nunez both of Rockport, Texas; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Aransas Pass, Texas.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Military graveside services will follow in the San Antonio Cemetery in Aransas Pass, Texas.
