Edwina McCullar Chandler, 81, of Millington, died Saturday at Methodist Healthcare North. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Elmwood. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel has charge. She was a former Navy disbursing clerk, past PTA president of Millington East Elementary School, and member of Germantown Art League and Daughters of the American Revolution, Alexander McCullough Chapter. Mrs. Chandler, the widow of Nicholas M. Chandler, leaves a daughter, Niki Chandler Hemness of Millington; a son, Jack Chandler Pettit of Memphis; three grandsons, and a great-granddaughter. Of particular interest today is the marriage of Miss Edwina McCullar to Aviation Cadet Jack Raymond Pettit, son of Mr. and Mrs. Plez Pettit of 1584 Galloway, which is announced today by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin N. McCullar of 480 North Willett. The ceremony was solemnizd at 5 o'clock in the afternoon, May 22, at the post chapel at Maxwell Field, Ala., where the bridegroom was stationed.......
....Mrs. Pettit will be at home with her parents until Cadet Pettit is commissioned. He is now in Ocala, Fla., where he is taking his primary training.
