-- YORK - Mr. William Clarence Shillinglaw Jr., 66, of 14 Bratton Ave. died Friday, March 19, 1999, at home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Todd Speed officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
A native of York, Mr. Shillinglaw was a son of the late William Clarence Shillinglaw Sr. and Mammie Louise Parrish Shillinglaw. He attended York public schools and graduated from Presbyterian College in 1954. He served in the Air Force and graduated first in his pilot training class. He served as a bomber pilot with the Strategic Air Command and resigned in 1958 as a captain. He worked a Southern Airways, Beaunit Textile Corp., El Paso Products and Rexene Lab Inc., where he retired in 1989 as director of computer services.
He was a deacon at First Presbyterian Church of York. While living in Odessa, Texas, he was a Rotarian, a deputy in the Ector County Sheriff's Reserve, rising to the rank of sergeant. He served as an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Odessa.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Templeton Shillinglaw; two sons, William Clarence Shillinglaw III of Rock Hill and Scott Donnan Shillinglaw of Charlotte; and his daughter, Lisa Shillinglaw Evans of York.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.
