My grandmother, Lillian Faye (Gartin) Remster, was the daughter of Parepa Rosa Lynch Gartin and John William Gartin, and born in White Breast Township in Lucas County, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Rolley Edward Remster on March 15, 1926 in Princeton, Missouri.
She worked at the Iowa Ordnance Plant and in the Kaiser Shipyards as an electrician building Liberty and Victory Ships during WW II.
In 1945, she and Rolley moved to Chugwater, Wyoming where she was the past president of the Chugwater Telephone Company, two times past president of the Navy Mother's Club, member of White Shrine, Eastern Star, Wheat Grower's Association, Boiler Maker's Union, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
All this activity, and she still found time to make the most wonderful cookies, pies, and other baked goods, and to crochet and knit and do various other crafts. Her energy was unbelievable.
She had two sons, Harold Edward "Pete" Remster (born September 22, 1930 in Lucas County, Iowa), and James Earl Remster (born July, 20, 1946 in Wyoming).
