Graveside services for Alta B. Tingle, 88, Lawrence, will be 1:30 p.m.
Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.
Mrs. Tingle died Thursday, March 11, 1993, at the Eudora Nursing Center.
She was born July 7, 1904, in Missouri to Joseph and Olie Burchett.
She moved to Lawrence in her early 20s and worked for Stokely-Van Camp.
She also had a booth at Quantrill's Flea Market. Her hobby was antiques.
She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
She married Ed Tingle in Ottawa in 1944. He died in 1967. A son, Donald, also died.
Survivors include a son, Norman Miller, Lecompton; a stepson, Raymond Tingle,
Lawrence; three stepdaughters, Maxine Ireland, Lawrence, Doris Bartkoski, Tonganoxie,
and Esther Parsons, Baldwin; three brothers, Ralph Burchett, Olathe,
Paul Burchett and Edward Burchett, both of Lawrence; a sister,
Bea O'Neal, Topeka; 26 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Eudora Nursing Home.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
