OBITUARY:
SHERMAN S. RUGGLES.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bollman chapel in Dallas for Sherman S. Ruggles, 69, of 851 Rosemont Ave. NW, Salem, who died Thursday night at a Salem hospital, apparently of a lung illness. Rev. J. Maurice Thompson of the First Christian Church in Salem will officiate. Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery, Salem.
Ruggles moved here in 1905 from North Dakota. He lived in the Salem area and Dallas since that time. Before his retirement about six years ago he drove a log truck.
Survivors include his widow, Martha, Salem; sons Sherman W. Guerneville, Calif., and Ronald of Eugene; stepdaughters, Evelyn Martin, San Francisco, and Eva Kahler, Dallas; brothers Charles and Raymond of Salem, Delbert, Chicago, and Wilbur, Portland; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
