Lucille was the third child and only daughter of Earl and Laura J. (Sims) Austin.

Lucille was the beloved spouse of Robert H. Braun.

Lucille (Austin) Braun, 76, of Shokan, died peacefully after a long illness with her family by her side, Saturday, March 31, 2012 at The Kingston Hospital. She was born June 5, 1935 in Farmersville Station, NY to the late Earl E and Laura (Sims) Austin.

She was married to her loving husband of 57 years, Robert H Braun, on June 25, 1955.

Lucille was a graduate of SUNY Buffalo in 1955 with a BS degree in Elementary Education; she taught elementary school in Canajoharie and Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School systems. After completing Nurse training, she was employed for several years by Ulster County Infirmary as an LPN and In-service Trainer for the Nurse Aide program, retiring in 1988. Active in community affairs, she was a Den mother for Boy Scouts of America, a leader for Brownie Girl Scouts, taught CCD classes and was active in PTA work. She was a member of the Fountain of Life congregation for many years, involved in a variety of church activities.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children; Robert A. Braun and his wife Mary of Fort Atkinson, WI; Lauralee R. Bliss and her husband Steven of Ruckersville, VA; Deanne M. Braun of Wappingers Falls, NY; and Andrea B. Kessler and her husband Joseph of Grayslake, IL; grandchildren, Nathan, Andrew, Benjamin and Rachel Braun, Joshua Bliss and Noah Kessler, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401 where friends may call on Wednesday from 6 - 8 pm. Services will be held Thursday at 10 AM at the funeral home.

Entombment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery Community Mausoleum, Kingston.
