A brother, Adolphus, two years younger than Albartus also enlisted as a Private in the same unit but was in Company F. He also served until the end of the Civil War. An older brother, John L., was in the Forty-Third Regiment of the Mississippi Infantry.A second older brother, Rufus L., also served in Company A, 5th Mississippi Infantry.
