Mrs. Lillie May Sterling, 52, died Thursday, March 18 at 9:05 p.m. a few hours after she was admitted to Collingsworth General Hospital.
She was the wife of Thomas J. Sterling and had lived here since 1966, coming from Childress.
The former Lillie May Thompson, she was the daughter of James and Irene Robison Thompson, and was born October 17, 1930 in Lamar County. She and Mr. Sterling were married September 10, 1947* at Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Sterling was employed as a housekeeper at Thomas Nursing Center and formerly worked in Childress.
She was a member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband; four daughters, Rosie Lee Thomas of Dallas, Bessie May Sterling of Childress, Catherine Sterling and Lorraine Sterling of Wellington; two sons, Thomas Sterling, Jr. of Wellington and Robert Ernest Sterling of Long Beach, CA; her mother, Mrs. Irene Robison of Paris; two sisters: Betty Thompson and Barbara Porter, both of Lubbock; three brothers, Lonzo Thompson of Dallas, Will Thompson of Albuquerque, NM and Calvin Robison of California; and 5 grandchildren.
