My grandma was determined to give each of her sons a middle name that started with an E, because her mother in law had said she couldn't think of one for grandpa...so he only got an E.
Grandma was the type of person that was happiest when there was a full house, with lots of children running around.
Grandma's was left a very young widow with 4 small children when her first husband was killed accidently by being crushed between 2 trains(see his story), she thought is was sinful to re marry...her minister had to explain to her that it was okay because her husband had died. She married my grandpa and had a wonderful 64 years together.
The night that grandpa passed away, it is said that she woke up that moment and told the convelescent home caregiver that Howard had just died....they were amazed, because he was in the mens wing. Oh how special a love they had.
There is an old church song "ARE THE CHILDREN ALL IN?", that reminds me so much of grandma every time I hear it.
Grandma did not preach at you...but you knew she was praying for you when you knelt down by sofa before bedtime.
