Linda Lee Gibbons Underhill
Birth: May 23, 1955
Death: Apr. 30, 2010
Kern County
California, USA

Linda Lee was our childhood to adult friend all the way up until she was called home, we will miss her dearly Linda,

She Loved The Lord

Linda was the daughter of J and D Gibbons, two people who loved and cherished her unconditionally and supported her throughout her life. Linda was unique from the moment she entered this world with her intestines on the outside of her body. However, she lived and played like she had never missed a beat. Growing up, she was very best friends with her younger sister, Laura, and loved telling stories of the antics they shared, like flooding the house the night they went out to a movie, or hysterically laughing in the middle of Bible Study prayer. Linda grew up into a beautiful young woman who made friends wherever she went, and learned to sew like a professional; making her own school clothes by the time she entered high school. She would later take up quilting and would prove to be equally as blessed with this skill. Linda graduated from North High School in 1973 and was married shortly thereafter. Linda gave birth to her first daughter, in 1977. She was a natural born mother with instincts to protect and serve her child. Her second daughter, was born in 1980 and the trio was complete as she would say "...just me and my girls." Though very ill in the middle to end of her life, Linda continued to be a confident prayer warrior, friend to those in need, seeker of Jesus Christ, and steadfast mother. It is without a doubt that Linda's main concern was to see everyone know Jesus and to enter Heaven. She prayed fervently for the lost, as well as for the found who struggled with daily life. Linda had a heart that could easily break with a story of woe. She had an amazing level of empathy that would let one know that she truly was taking on the pain of others and praying for them to seek the Lord to overcome obstacles with hope of Christ. She found joy in working at the church, attending and studying her Bible study, and helping to care for her three grandchildren. Linda remained through her life as a "one of a kind," there will never be another like Linda Lee. Linda is survived by her parents; her sister and husband; brother, and wife; Two daughters; Three grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; kindred spirit, Debbie, and myriad of dear friends from life, dialysis, Bible Study, and Valley Bible Fellowship; and her Cocker Spaniel, Sida. Linda Lee will surely be missed as her Shepherd has led her home: She has finally found rest. Services will be held Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
