BALDOCCHI, Helen Marieni - Formerly of Valley Ford. May 1, 1932 - April 18, 2007. Helen was born to Stella and Mario Marieni in Petaluma and was reared on the family dairy in Valley Ford with her sister Dorothy. She attended a one-room school house, graduated from Tomales High School in 1950, and received an Associate of Arts degree from Armstrong College, in Berkeley. She married Evo Baldocchi, a widower, on December 29, 1953, and became mother to Eddie, Evo's son. On April 12, 1955, their son Dennis was born. She is survived by her husband and two sons, her daughters-in-law Nicole and Carol, and her grandchildren Kate and Paul Baldocchi and Ian McCully. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy and aunts Helen, Emma, and Jane as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was active in her community. She was a member of the Knightsen Farm Bureau and served as its Secretary for over 40 years. She particularly enjoyed her duties in "Ag in the Classroom." In addition she was an Auxiliary volunteer since 1971, at Sutter Delta Medical Center, Antioch. For many years the Baldocchi residence served as a polling place for elections and Helen continued to serve as Inspector for elections for many years. She was a Room Mother to both her sons during their school years. She enjoyed these many activities in addition to being a partner with her husband on their walnut ranch. The family liked camping together and she loved fishing for abalone with Evo. During her spare time, she was an avid reader! She will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to either the Sutter VNA & Hospice or the St. Anthony Parish Building Fund in Oakley. Services will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 971 O'Hara Ave., Oakley, CA 94561 at 10:00 a.m. on April 20, 2007.
