BACHER, Frank Joseph - Age 86, died March 23, 2007 of complications from a stroke. He was born in Vineburg, CA where he lived most of his life on the family ranch. He served in the Army Air Force World War II in the Third Emergency Air Sea Rescue Squadron in the Pacific Theater. He retired after 461/2 years at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, where he was a sheet metal worker, an apprentice counselor and planner/scheduler. For the last 24 years he was the beloved husband of Elsa L. Bacher and lived in Fulton, CA. He was very involved in folk dancing for over 50 years. He taught classes, provided professional sound for dance events throughout Northern CA, and was a dedicated member of the Folk Dance Federation of CA, Inc. where he served as president and in numerous other capacities. He loved using his 3D cameras for photography of his travels and family occasions. He was a faithful member of St. Francis Solano parish all his life and served as usher many years. His family remembers him as a kind, capable, loving, patient and good man. His wife Elsa, his sister Mary Rita Browning, his sisters in law Judith Bacher and Cassie Bacher, his step daughters Arwen Dave and Kathleen Isaac, his 11 nieces and nephews, and 12 grandnieces and grandnephews carry his memory in their hearts. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Solano Catholic Church, 469 Third Street West, Sonoma, CA.
