Singing group, The Dinning Sisters, consisted of Eugenia (Jean) Dinning, Virginia (Ginger) Dinning, and Ella Lucille (Lou) Dinning. The trio sang together in their church choir from an early age. In their teens they had their own local radio show and later toured with Herbie Homes' orchestra. The group was most well known as performers on NBC Radio during the 1940s and appeared with Ozzie Nelson Orchestra in the 1942 film Strictly in the Grove.
In 1946 Lou Dinning left the trio and there were several replacement members of the group before it disbanded in 1954. Lou married Don Robertson and they recorded several songs together including "The Happy Whistler" and "You're Free To Go" but divorced before her passing.
The Dinning Sisters briefly reunited in 1993 and recorded the spiritual album "Rhinestone Christian" with the Jordanaires.
The three Dinning Sisters were daughters of John Boyd Dinning and Bertha Ethel Riggs Dinning and came from a family of five daughters and four sons including:

-- Wade Dinning who chaperoned the under-aged sisters when they were performing.

-- Ella Lucille (Lou) Dinning was born in 1922 in Kentucky and died 2001 in Nashville, Tennessee.

She was best known for writing the song "Teen Angel" which was recorded by brother Mark. Jean's marriages to Howard Mack and Alex "Red" Surrey ended in divorce and her third husband, Joel "Red" Beasley, died in 1994.
-- Virginia (Ginger) Dinning Lutke was also born in March 29, 1924 in Enid, Oklahoma (she and Jean are twins). She married Harry Lutke of New Jersey and is the mother of banjo artist Steve Lutke.
-- Dolores (Tootsie) Dinning Edgin replaced sister Lou when she left the group and Tootsie lived in Springfield, Tennessee, and performed on the television's Hee Haw show.
-- Mark Dinning was born 1933 in Oklahoma and grew up on a farm near Nashville, TN. He became a teen heart-throb after recording "Teen Angel" which was written by his sister Jean. He performed until his passing from a heart attack in 1986.
