James Alfred is the 11th child of
eleven children born to his parents
Jobe W Scott (1817 Canada-1893 Kansas)
and
Rebecca Scott (maiden name also Scott)
(1820 Canada - 1889 Kansas).

Jobe and Rebecca married on 11 Nov 1840,
in the St Thomas Church in St Thomas,
Elgin, Ontario, Canada; witnessed by
Jobe's brothers Jacob Scott (1797-?)
and Enos Scott (1824-1908).
Reverend M. Burnham performed the ceremony.

are--
Sarah Jane Scott Dark (1843-1910)
Hyram William Scott (1845-1910)
Elvina Scott Stansel (1847-1942)
John Henry Scott (1850-1945)
Charles Edward Scott (1853-1932)
Zenas George Scott (1856-1935)
Samuel Enos Scott (1858-1951)
Hannah Ann Scott Smith (1860-1930)
Rachel Scott (1860-1882)
Helen "Ella" Scott Ebenhack (1863-1917)
James Alfred Scott (1864-1935) [my 1st great grandfather)


At age 26, school teacher and farmer's son,
James Alfred Scott married on 13 May 1891
in McPherson County, Kansas,
to first wife Mary Grace Jennings,
ceremony performed by REVEREND Clark.
There were six children from this union.
On 12 Mar 1908, Mary Grace passed away
from child birthing complications,
after birthing her sixth child.

At age 44, a widower with six children,
James Alfred remarried to Mary Alice Dunalap,
on 30 Dec 1908 in Oklahoma.
There was one child from this union,
James William Dunlap Scott (1909-1979).

Death --
Jeannette Scott (grand d/o James Alfred Scott and Mary Grace) says, "He {James Alfred Scott} passed away after being ill for a long time. Jeannette says, "He had been in an auto accident and one of his legs was gangrene at the time of his death. This leads me and others to think he was diabetic."
