Edith M. Golden

Edith M. Golden, 95, of Lubbock, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008.

She was born April 22, 1912 in Potosi, TX and moved with her family to Rochester, TX in 1914. She attended school at Corrinth and Rochester High School.

Edith married Paul Golden in Rochester November 3, 1929. They moved to Lubbock in 1939 where Edith worked at Sears Roebuck for 34 years.

She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, past member of the Leo Gee Class and the Triple L. Game Night.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Edmonson and husband, Billy; daughter-in-law, Doris Golden; six grandchildren, Stephen S. Golden, Michael R. Golden, Vicki L. Golden, Grady G. Golden, Fletcher W. Golden, and Melanie Grusendorf; 12 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; son, Jerry E. Golden; grandson, Tommy E. Golden; three brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2008 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
