He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on April 15, 1918.

He received his discharge from the Army on June 20, 1918 to accept a commission as an officer in the Army.

He was originally from Danbury, Connecticut.

He was married to Jane Adele Anthes on September 2, 1916 at New Rochelle, New York.

His last place of residence was in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on November 28, 1967.
