From Kitty Harbor Inc. in Connecticut:
Edgar was a former feral who had spent all of his life in shelters. In fact he came to Kitty Harbor from another shelter. He remained very skittish and fearful of humans -- annual shot time meant the net, no fun for anyone -- but he got along fine with his roommates and never caused any problems. He had his most definite favorite friend, and that was Nell. They loved to headbutt each other.
He never looked like the healthiest cat in the world and it wasn't too surprising when he was diagnosed with kidney failure. I guess you could say he had a short but sweet life, where he at least had a roof over his head, good food and medical care, and a warm place to sleep. He did better than most ferals, who spend their short lives scrounging for food in dumpsters and sleeping in junked cars.
Rest in peace Edgar.
