World War II and Korean War Air Force Veteran. He enlisted in the Air Corps during World War II and also served in the Korean War as a pilot. At the time of his death he was a Captain with the 40th Bomb Squadron, 6th Bombardment Wing-Heavy, stationed at Walker Air Force Base, Roswell, New Mexico. He was the pilot of a B-36 bomber on a routine training flight from Walker Air Force Base to Texas when it hit a tornado storm and crashed. All fourteen men aboard were killed.
