US Congressman. He was a teacher when he was admitted to the bar and commenced law practice in Chicago in 1885. He was lecturer on corporate law in the John Marshall Law School in 1907 and 1908. In 1911, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-second Congress, serving one term until 1913. He then returned to his Chicago law practice.
