This community was shocked Thursday morning when the news were spread of the accident, which befell David Wise, a life long resident of this community. He has had his home with his sister, Mrs. Joseph Echelbarger for a number of years. Scott Camp and hired man were there to mow down grass, and there was something loose at the divivding board on the mower and he asked Wise to get a hammer and some nails to fasten it. He brought them out and was standing behind the mowing machine and the horses got to fussing at the flies and got the lines fast, which started them to back and Wise being nearly 82 years old and very feeble was unable to get out of the way quick enough and they backed the machine across his body, crushing him scross the chest, which caused his death about an hour later. He is survived by four sons, Albert and Frank of Ashland, Tilden, of east of Fattasburg [Lattsburg] and James of Doylestown and a number of grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters. The funeral services were held at Trinity church, Saturday, at 2:30 p.m. Conducted by Rev. Thomas Weaver, of Bucyrus, assisted by Rev. Brandeberry, Pastor of Trinity church. A large concourse of friends and relatives were in attendance. Friends being present from Cleveland, Lorain, Bucyrus, Butler, Doylestown, and Ashland
