Mrs. Ella Chase Wise, 87, widow of the late David Wise, died at 7 a.m. in her home in Polk this morning, after having been ill for two weeks.
The daughter of James and Jane Doty Chase, Mrs. Wise was born at Navarre in Stark county January 16, 1852. She was married to David Wise in 1872 and had made her home on a farm east of Ashland.
In 1900 she moved to Polk where she lived ever since, with the exception of five years that she stayed with her son Frank in Ashland. In Ashland, she was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church maintaining that membership during her residence in Polk.
She is survived by four sons, Albert of Ashland, Tilden H. of Polk, James C. of Barberton and Frank J. of Ashland; two brothers, O.D. Chase of Cleveland, N.H. Chase of St. Paul, Minn.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wise was preceded in death by three daughters and three sons; two sisters, Mrs. Samantha Chase Myers of Ashland, Mrs. Mary Morr, twin sister who died last May at Altamont, Ill., two brothers, J.B. Chase of Ashland and Sherwood Chase of Columbus.
Funeral services will be held at her home in Polk, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Dr. A.H. Smith of the Ashland Trinity Lutheran church officiating. Burial will be made in the Polk cemetery.

Pallbearers were Earl Wise, Nelson Wise and Fred Wise of Ashland, Raymond Wise and Gaylord Wise of Polk and Ben Jones of Decatur, Ill.
