Jacob Rogers was born June 6, 1794 in Nelson Co., Ky. Was the son of Matthew Rogers. Married Precious Lovelace, November 26, 1812. Moved to Hardin Co. about April 1, 1815. Raised a family of 6 sons and 4 daughters. Lost his wife April 22, 1849. Married second to Mrs. Frances M. Nall, who survived him. His preaching was mostly confined to Hardin, Bullitt, Nelson, LaRue, Meade Cos., and occasionally bordering counties of In. Married 274 couples. Died March 21, 1855. (The burial site for Jacob and Precious was a family plot on their farm in Hardin Co., Ky, located on what is now known as the Deckard School Road -- The stone from Precious grave has been placed there.

The burial place for Jacob and Precious Rogers has been plowed over. Their grave stones wee found in a fence row moved to rest beside a barn for several years. Only one stone remained (Precious Rogers). Her stone was incorporated into a monument for both of them erected in Howell's Cemetery in Hardin Co., KY. Their Monument was placed alongside the grave of one of their sons, William Pusey Rogers. Others of their family are buried there also.)
