Emma Irene Menteer, 87, Jefferson City, died Dec. 23, 1999, at Capital Healthcare (Jefferson City). She was born July 15, 1912, in Eugene, a daughter of Oliver R. and Carrie Bell Kallenbach. She was married Dec. 29, 1932, in Brumley, to Josiah Lampkin Menteer, who died July 29, 1974.
She attended Miller County schools and graduated with honors from the Jefferson City School of Practical Nursing. She was a licensed practical nurse at Memorial Community Hospital until her retirement.
She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Eugene Chapter.
Survivors include: one son, Norman D. Menteer, Jefferson City; one stepson, William C. Menteer, Montgomery, Texas; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Murl Nash will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's disease research.
