Died at his home in the town of Rantoul, this county, on the 15th inst. Andrew Finucan at the age of 81 years. Deceased was a native of County Clare, Ireland, where he lived until his sixteenth year, when he struck out to fight life's battle on his own hook. He went to the city of Limerick, where at the age of 25, he found himself doing a profitable business in the importation of American tobacco which he manufactured into snuff and other forms. He continued at this business for about eighteen years accumulating a fair competency.
In 1852, he came to America, where he spent about two years in the states of New York and Illinois. He deposited the principal part of his means in a Chicago bank which soon collapsed and left him comparatively poor. He came to Wisconsin in 1855, settling in the town of Rantoul in this county, where he had continued to reside until his death. Mr. Finucan was a man of intelligence and integrity and was chosen by the people of his town to different positions of honor and trust. He was one of the pioneers of Rantoul and was well and favorably known by all the old settlers. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of The Times.
