Born Eierland Texel.
Eierland is the northern part of the Dutch Wadden Island of Texel.

I was able to learn that Paul and his parents and siblings immigrated aboard the "City of Baltimore." by way of Liverpool which arrived in New York on October 14, 1867

Krijn Breen and family settled in Allendale, Michigan which is located in Allegan County. Paul worked as a domestic serant in his teenage years for Rieks Bouws as evidenced in the 1880 census. Paul naturally helped his father on the farm as was expected in those days and eventually became a farmer himself. He fell in love and married Maria Elizabeth Oostdijk, daughter of Cornelius Oostdijk and Adriana In't Velt, who also had immigrated from the Netherlands in 1867, but from Fijnaart (which is located in Noord Brabant.) They were married April 14, 1884 in Graafschap, Allegan County, Michigan.

Six children blessed this marriage. All were born in Allendale, Allegan County, Michigan. They were Kryn Breen who married Jessie Bouwman, Adrianna Breen (my great grandmother) who married Peter Klaas Cook, Nellie Breen who married Everett Scharphorn first and John Wigger second, Neil Breen who married Pearl Van Eeuwen, Jean Breen who married Albert Van Zytveld, and Edwin P. Breen who married Gertrude Koster and Lenore Gilette.

Paul Breen died in Grand Rapids at the home of his daughter Jean. He was 81 years old and had lost his beloved wife just eight months earlier.

A special thank you for Jazzy *Angel Flower Garden Member* for providing the tombstone picture for Paul Breen, my great great grandfather. I have never gotten the chance to visit his grave in person, so having the picture is especially meaningful. Thanks again.

Paul K. Breen was the first child of Krijn Breen and Neeltje Visser Breen. He was born December 1, 1859 in Ouddorp, Zuid Holland, Netherlands. Ouddorp is presently located in the municipality of Goedereede in Zuid Holland, but was independent until 1965. Between the years 1850 and 1920, Ouddorp was a major contributor of immigrants to the USA and the Krijn Breen family was no exception. Thanks to information from a cousin, Mary Miller I was able to learn that Paul and his parents and siblings immigrated aboard the "City of Baltimore." by way of Liverpool which arrived in New York on October 14, 1867
