~ ~"Remember Jean and Smile"~ ~
Thank you for visiting my Mom's memorial.
Thank you for the beautiful tokens also.
Mama Jean was my mother since I was 8 years old & my very best friend. We talked & laughed most everyday! I'm going to miss her so much....my memories are with Mama Jean. She was a faithful Christian as long as I knew her. A wonderful example I looked up to & tried to be like....awesome memories to cherish!
We never used the terms Step-Mother or Step-Daughter. Mama Jean was just my Mom and I was her oldest daughter. She and my Dad married when I was 8 years old. She had 2 daughters and a son prior to marrying my Dad. When she married Dad, she inherited me and my brother. We all lived together until each of us kids graduated school and left home. Mama Jean made every holiday special. She was the backbone of our family. She cooked Sunday meals for all the kids and grandkids who wanted to come and eat after Sunday morning worship services. She did this every Sunday. She loved family and she loved feeding people. She made all of us feel so loved and special. She was a precious person who did her best to help us all. She and I talked on the phone most every day and sometimes several times each day when time permitted. She was my rock. She always had an answer to every problem. After my Mother Phyllis died, I remember Mama Jean telling me to keep moving one foot in front of the other and stay busy....because that was the only way to get through the grief. Today, I am telling myself those same words. I will miss my phone ringing every day and I will miss the advice she always gave to me and I will miss every thing about her, but I am so thankful that we were so close to one another and that we shared so many happy memories together and I'm so thankful that I can say Mama Jean was not only my precious Mom, but also my very best friend.
