Nov. 7, 1937-Dec. 7, 2007
Donald LeRoy QUIER, 70, of 1419 Franklin Ave., Rochester,
died at 11:22 p.m. Friday at home.
Born in Mentone, he was the son of Elmer and Cleora Dillman
Quier. He lived his whole life in the Mentone and Rochester
On Nov. 15, 1959, at Lake Manitou, he married Patricia Sayger, and she survives.
He was employed by Nickles Bakery. He worked the majority
of his life at Sealed Power Corp. Following his retirement from Sealed Power, he worked part time as a cook with Jack Townsend at Rochester Meats & Deli until October 2006.
Don enjoyed all spectator sports. He especially looked forward to watching football, baseball, basketball and golf on television. As an outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing on Lake Manitou for bluegill and catfish. Don was a dedicated member of the Rochester Eagles Lodge. As a thoughtful and talented craftsman and woodworker, Don
created custom designed furniture for his family and close friends. He constructed a vast array of baby beds, coffee tables, curios and even wooden lawn ornaments. He was known for his generosity as he donated some of the wooden ornaments to charity in an effort to assist them with fundraising.
Don will always be remembered by his family and friends for
his graciousness in helping others. His greatest effort with helping mankind came when he volunteered and was accepted to participate in clinical trials. He was very proud and knew that he would help others benefit with this effort.
