Palmer resident William H. Pearson, 71, died May 3, 1995, at his residence. A funeral was held at Kehl's Palmer Mortuary in Palmer. A visitation was one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Pearson was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Steilacoom, Wash. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for four years during World War II. Mr. Pearson moved to Alaska in 1946 and worked on the Alaska Railroad as a heavy equipment operator for 32 years and retired in November 1978. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pioneers of Alaska and the American Legion. He loved Alaska, working for the railroad and collecting pocket watches.
Survivors include his brother, Charles; brother's companion, Doris Hopkins; best friend and companion, Mary Benbow, and many close friends. Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by his wife, Esther, in 1979. Arrangements for the family were made by Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
