Funeral services for Cecil T. Quier Sr., 66, were held at Spenard Heights Mortuary with the Rev. Jack O'Mary of the Highway Chapel Church of God in Palmer. Visitation was held at the Mortuary.
He died Jan. 18, in his sleep at Providence Alaska Hosptial in Anchorage, Alaska after a battle with lung cancer.
He was born April 23, 1919 in South Bend, Indiana, He served in U.S. World War II Air Corps as a Gunner.
He had been a resident of Anchorage since 1966. He owned and operated Cecil's Barbara Shop on Spenard Rd in Anchorage.
He is survived by one daughter, Chris Purvis of Anchorage; four sons, Cecil Quier Jr. of Seattle, Washashington, Michael Quier of Freemont, California, Joe Quier of Anchorage, and Scott Quier of Palmer; also by two sisters and seven grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 1343 G. Street, Anchorage, Alaska 99501.
