Born in Gaston County, he was founder of Shelby Truck Service, Charlie's Cycle Shop and Uncle Charlie's Mobile Homes in Kings Mountain and was current owner and operator of Clark's Supply. He was an investor and board member of Alliance Bank. He served in the Navy in the Korean War and was a member of Sons of Confederates and attended the Assembly of God in Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Issac and Carrie Wilson Clark, a number of brothers and a sister.
