Memphis Daily Appeal
October 18 1861

Death of Mr. Kehoe - It is our melancholy duty to add the name of another old resident of Memphis to the list of the departed. Yesterday morning John Kehoe, residing on Commerce street, breathed his last, in the 68th year of his age. He was one of our oldest citizens, and father of Wm. Kehoe, the present chief of the fire department. For several years he was one of the Alderman of the First ward, and has also filled the office of street commissioner. In all departments of life he bore the character of a good citizen. Kind, warm hearted and true. He was a man who won for himself a host of friends, and wherever known he was respected.
