Odessia, of Jackson, passed away peacefully at the home of her granddaughter, Shana Kuhn and under the care of Great Lakes Caring Hospice, July 8, 2013.
In her earlier years she enjoyed cooking, sewing, family time and taking care of her grandchildren. She was enjoying life at Greenleaf Care Home and making new friends the last 15 months.
Odessia is survived by her daughters, Janet Schmidt of Lake Havasu, AZ., and Beth Cottrell of Jerome, MI; grandchildren, Eric Schmidt of Jackson, MI., Michael Carr of Springport, MI., Melissa (Mark) Buckland of Jackson, MI., David (Cyndi) Schmidt of Minneapolis, MN., Isaac (Alisha) Cottrell of Jackson, MI., and Shana (Kenneth) Kuhn of Michigan Center, MI; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Schmidt and her son, Richard F. Schmidt.
Funeral services were Friday July 12, 2013 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids with Pastor Dave Cornwell officiating.
