to a weather-related structural failure, in
downtown Newark, Ohio, after departing
Wright Field near Dayton.
Five Army men and one civilian aboard the
aircraft, and two civilians on the ground
were killed.

Ovidio A. Picon, age 22, of Dayton, Ohio, a native of Cuba.
The civilians killed on the ground were Jane Irwin Weston, age 62, and Dollie Campbell, age 73.
