Eugenia "Jennie" (Borowski) Matuszewski, 89, of Leeds, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, with her loving family by her side.
Born Feb. 23, 1923, in Northampton, to the late Wladysaw and Antonia (Wichowski) Borowski, she was employed as a seamstress at the former Lesnow's Manufacturing Co. in Easthampton.
She loved sewing and making beautiful quilts for family and friends. Jennie also enjoyed reading romance novels, was a porcelain doll collector, loved tag sales and was John Wayne's biggest fan. Most of all she loved her times spent with her husband camping at various camp grounds.
Jennie is survived by her daughters, Jane Maloney of Leeds, Louise Bacon of Williamsburg, Christine Edmond of Greenfield and Gail LeDuc of Easthampton; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Ludwig; her son Richard; her brother Edward; and her sisters, Irene, Blanche and Vera.
A memorial service will be held for Jennie and her son Richard on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 10 a.m at the Drozdal Funeral Home of Northampton. Calling hours will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial for both mother and son will be in the spring.
My mother was such a hard working and talented person..If only I took pictures of her Roofing her whole house when she was in her 60s..She could well afford to have it done but she loved to save money lol
