Herbert N. Ackerman, 93, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 20, 2012.
Mr. Ackerman was born on October 29, 1919 in Poughkeepsie, New York. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in Europe, and later became the Owner of Hudson Valley Optical Company. Mr. Ackerman was a resident of Indian Lake, New York from 1983 until 2011 and was a longtime member of Hyde Park United Methodist Church. His wife, Louise Ackerman; children, Thomas and Barbara Ackerman; parents, Clarence and Nellie Ackerman; and sister, Helen Albrecht, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his daughters, Mary Ackerman Penn (William), Flower Mound, Texas and Carol Brown (Barry), Warner Robins; grandchildren, Brett Gahagan, Tricia Wakeford, Barry Lee Brown, Jr., and David Thomas Brown; and seven great-grandchildren.
