William Henry Carr, one of the old timers in Hoisington, passed after serious illness that started Friday, although he had not been in good health since June, 1934.

He was one of eight children born to William and Mary Carr was born in Scott County, Iowa September 17, 1856 In 1899 he married Rebecca Scarlett. To this union three sons were born.

The family came to Hoisington in 1896 where his wife passed away December 6, 1907.

During his residence here, William was employed as street and water commissioner and also operated a cleaning and pressing establishment for a number of years, and also followed other lines of work. He has lived a retired life since 1923.

He is survived by three sons, A. R. "Bob" Carr of this city and William H. Carr of Kansas City, Mo. and Hal "Tike" Carr of Boonville, Mo.
