Born: March 10, 1796, in Sheffield, Caledonia, VT
Died Sept. 9, 1884, age 88 years, Beaver Dam, Dodge Co. Wisconsin.
His parents were Stephen Drown and Sarah (Gray) Drown. He was twice married, to Mercy Bickford in Vermont, Dec. 7, 1815. They had a large family.
Then he married Deborah Hyland, March 23, 1831. He was ordained a Free Will Baptist minister in 1831, in New Hampshire, and labored for a time in the Wheelock Quarterly Meeting, and also, in New Hampshire, where he was a member of the Legislature three years.
In 1845, he moved to Dodge Co. Wisconsin, and obtained land, and continued to reside at Beaver Dam until his death.
He was treasurer of Dodge Co. in 1847, and connected with the Jefferson QM of FW Baptists, being widely known and respected. He and his wife, Deborah, lived over 50 years in wedlock. Many of his descendants live on in the area and elsewhere.
