Screenwriter. She is best known for her collaboration with Bob Carroll, Jr. on the classic TV series "I Love Lucy." She was the editor of her high school newspaper and graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Journalism in 1942 before initiating her career writing spots with WIRE Radio. This was followed by her moving to California where she found jobs in radio with CBS and NBC. While a staff writer at CBS, she met Carroll with whom she would form one of the most successful writing partnerships in TV history as they worked together for 50-years. They contributed stories for the radio program "My Favorite Husband" starring Lucille Ball, which evolved into the television series "I Love Lucy." Among the other programs they wrote for include "The Mothers-In-Law," "The Paul Lynde Show," "Here's Lucy" and "Sanford and Son." She was formerly married to TV producer Quinn Martin.
