Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for James B. Enneking, age 81, of St. Cloud who died on Dec. 2, 2006 at St. Benedict's Center. The Rev. Gregory Lieser will officiate. Entombment will be in the Assumption Mausoleum with full military honors.
Friends may call between 4-9 pm on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 11:30 am on Wednesday at the church. St. Peter's parish prayers will be at 7:30 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

James was born on January 12, 1925 in Melrose, MN to Henry John and Rose (Thielen) Enneking. He served in the US Army during WW II. He married Lila H. Gross on Oct. 25, 1956 in Sacred Heart Church in Sauk Rapids, MN. He was employed as the Stearns County Veterans Service Officer from 1955-87. He also managed the St. Cloud City and County Employees Credit Union 1963-94 and was a greeter at the Daniel Funeral Home.
He was a member of the Melrose VFW Post 7050, which he served as Quartermaster from 1950–60 and commander from 1960-61. He served as Sixth District VFW Commander 1954-55; District Service Officer, Sixth District VFW, 1955-87, Department of Minnesota VFW, Department Rehab and Veterans Benefits Committee, 1955-86, Post Service Officer. He was a member of the St. Cloud American Legion Post 76 from 1959-88, member and Secretary-Treasurer, Minnesota Association of County Veterans Service Officers from 1960-81 and President 1981-82. He was a member of the St. Cloud Disabled American Veterans Chapter 9, Past President and member of the Beaux and Belles Square Dance Club, St. Cloud Senior Citizens, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622 and Knights of Columbus Council 5548. He was an active member of St. Peter's parish where he was a member and past president of the Ushers Club, Chairman of St. Peter's Festival Committee 1986, Lector, and Eucharistic Minister.

Survivors include his wife Lila, children: Kevin (Brenda) of St. Cloud, Karla (Daniel) Meemken of Taylors Falls, Karen (Mark) Kruse of Rochester; grandchildren: Ben, Joe, Danielle, Isaac, Anna and Olivia; brothers and sisters: Alma Mergen of Albany, Clarence (Jean) of Albany, Thomas (Laurel) of Avon, Louise (Ken) Wood of Melrose, Shirley Nathe of Melrose and Arlene (Leslie) Eiden of Osseo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ervin and Roy.
